Our God is a loving God. He loves us, He cares for us and all we breathe, see, use and live with are all His. He protects us in going out and coming in. He sent His son to reveal His character, Love, and He died for our sins. He became like one of us and God was in Him reconciling the world to Himself. Christ died for our sins and paid our pardon.
There is a question that arises if He loves me, will He really acquit the sinners? Will there really be hell? Should I really be good? These questions are bugling to many Christians. How will he judge the world then? With the life, I live and the challenges I have is there a possibility I can get lost? Well these questions take us back to the definitions of What is the gospel and what does it protect us from. That whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Is it everlasting life for all?
The Bible defines the gospel
Paul defines this clearly well the gospel, He says that it is the power of God. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:16-17. Is it the power of God to save us from sin or the power to just keep us from bad sins and jail?
Is it the power of God to save us from sin or the power to just keep us from bad sins and jail?
What does the Gospel protect us from Bible?
The Bible tells us that the Gospel protects us from the wrath of God and this wrath will fall even on those who persist in unrighteousness. “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them.” Romans 1:18-19. To the church of Ephesus, he tells them: “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye, therefore, partakers with them.” Ephesians 5:6-7
Encouragement
God is there when we are tempted, He does not let us down. “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13. Furthermore, Our God does not tempt any man, “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. “James 1:13-14.
God is there for us, let us hold our faith with strength and we will see our delivery. “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have shown toward His name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that every one of you does show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” Hebrews 6:10-12
This blog will look into this issue and from scripture, we will try to answer these questions. We have a God of love and Love does not assume the sin rather it does something about the sin issue. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 “For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:15-16
“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.” 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10. Live on this promise.
